The 2019 Apprentice of the Year Awards are proudly sponsored by Ricky Richards - our Apprenticeship Program, Partnering Sponsor.
The Apprentice of the Year Award is made up of two levels. Each level takes into consideration the apprentice’s level of experience and has its own project entry criteria.
- Level one is open to apprentices that are currently enrolled in the relevant qualification and are within their first 18 months of training. This level requires the apprentice to follow a specific design in order to complete a fabricated product.
- Level two is open to apprentices that are currently enrolled in the relevant qualification for more than 18 months. This category requires the apprentice to create their own design while following the project criteria.
Entry into the Apprentice of the Year Award is open to ALL apprentices currently enrolled in:
- Certificate III Manufactured Textile Products
- Cert III Automotive & Marine Trimming Technology
All entrants into the Apprentice of the year Award will receive:
- One entry ticket to attend the 2019 Awards for Excellence dinner on Wednesday 12th June 2019 on the Gold Coast
- Reimbursement of one nights accommodation (T&C's apply).
The winners for the Apprentice of the Year Award will be announced at the Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner due to take place on Wednesday 12th June 2019 on the Gold Coast, Qld
The level one winner will receive:
• the Apprentice Encouragement Award
• $500 cash prize
• Certificate
The level two winner will receive:
• the Apprentice of the Year Award
• $500 cash prize
• Certificate
In addition to the Apprentice winners prizes, the employer/s of the winning apprentices will also receive $1000 cash prize for their support towards industry training. Please note that this prize is only offered and available to STA members.
Entries for the Apprentice of the Year Award are to be lodged online by 9th April 2019 with the physical project, to arrive at the STA office by Tuesday 16th April 2019.
