For over than 20 years, the Specialised Textiles Association has recognised excellence in design and innovation, highlighting truly spectacular work in the specialised textiles industry in Australia. The Awards for Excellence competition is an initiative of the Specialised Textiles Association, a not-for-profit industry/trade association the 180 member businesses of which represent the $12 billion-plus in the specialised textiles marketplace.

STA received a total of 49 entries from 20 companies that were submitted over 14 categories in this year’s competition. Winners were selected based on complexity, design, workmanship, uniqueness and function. Judges included industry experts, educators and design professionals.

All entries receive were displayed at the industry’s largest expo in Australia – SuperExpo2016 between 8 and 10th June on the Gold Coast.
